Create a donor-advised scholarship in 4 easy steps

Step 1

Apply to establish a scholarship

Choose the name for the donor-advised scholarship fund, recommend advisory committee members, applicant eligibility criteria, application materials, and deadlines.

Step 2

Donate assets to the scholarship

Make an irrevocable charitable contribution of cash, stocks, bonds, or real estate to NST. The donation will be reflected in your donor-advised scholarship fund as available to award.

Step 3

Recommend investments

Propose how donor-advised scholarship fund assets should be invested and the allocation within each asset class. Choose from over 100 approved investment options to grow and sustain the scholarship fund over the long term.

Step 4

Recommend scholarship recipients

Recommend scholarship recipients as part of the advisory committee for your donor-advised scholarship fund. The board of directors votes on the recommendations, and students and donors are updated about the decisions.

Seamless year-to-year management

Create a Scholarship

Advisory committee votes

An advisory committee comprised of 3-4 NST directors and 1-2 donor-affiliated advisors votes on scholarship recipients and amounts.
